Invisalign Orthodontics Las Vegas

Invisalign Las Vegas

Las Vegas Invisalign Orthodontics is an innovative “invisible” alternative to braces. Instead of using heavy metal brackets to move teeth into place, Invisalign uses a series of clear plastic aligners to gently straighten teeth. Not all dentists are qualified to treat patients with Invisalign. If you are unhappy with crowded or crooked teeth and are looking for a qualified Invisalign specialist in Las Vegas, ABC Dental Care can help.

Who Is Eligible For Invisalign?

Because the program is tailored to individuals, Invisalign can help correct most any orthodontic problem. Whether your teeth need only slight adjustments or you have more advanced orthodontic issues, Dr. Khorshid can help.

Common issues that can be corrected include:

  • Crooked teeth.
  • Gaps in teeth.
  • Underbite.
  • Overbite.
  • Crowded teeth.
  • Cross bite. (some upper teeth bite on inside of lower teeth)
  • Open bite. (not all teeth meet when biting)

Advantages Of Invisalign Over Traditional Braces

The most obvious advantage of Invisalign is cosmetic. The clear aligners are thin and barely noticeable, unlike braces which are very visible and often require rubber bands, brackets and other external devices which can make patients feel self-conscious. You can even remove the aligners if you have to participate in sports or other events.

Invisalign is also more comfortable than braces. Metal brackets can cut the inside of the lip or cause irritation or painful sores. Invisalign is also more targeted than braces, which means that only certain teeth are moved at certain times. When braces are tightened, the entire mouth can become sore, affecting how a patient eats and sleeps. With Invisalign, the patient removes the aligners to eat, drink, brush and floss.

Another unfortunate side effect of braces is tooth decay. Cleaning and flossing the teeth can be difficult with a mouth full of brackets and wires, and many patients end up with gum disease or cavities, even if they practice excellent oral hygiene. With Invisalign, patients can brush and floss normally, allowing them easier access to clean the teeth while undergoing treatment.

And a special note for patients concerned about wearing plastic aligners for several months, Invisalign is made of soft, BPA-free plastic.

How Does Invisalign Work?

When you choose Invisalign, you will visit with Dr. Khorshid to have impressions made of your teeth. A tray of soft gel will be placed in your mouth and held into place for several minutes until it firms. Bite measurements, x-rays, and other photographs may also be taken so that the lab can create the perfect custom aligners for your mouth. While you are in the office, Dr. Khorshid can use these images to show you a computerized model of how your teeth will progress from their current alignment into their final, properly aligned position.

When the aligners are ready, you will return to the office to once again consult with Dr. K. He will fit the first aligners into your mouth to ensure proper fit and function. He will present you with your Invisalign kit and outline your treatment plan. Every two weeks you will change aligners. Each set of aligners is a small step in a progressive treatment that will slowly straighten your teeth.

You will be required to return to the office for short checkups every six weeks so that the dentist can monitor your progression.

Choosing Invisalign Dentist

Only a skilled dental professional can determine if Invisalign is the right treatment for you, and unfortunately, not all dentists are qualified to offer this type of care. It is important to be comfortable with the dentist you choose because you’ll be seeing quite a lot of him throughout the process of straightening your teeth.

There are several Las Vegas Invisalign dentists to choose from, but Dr. Kevin Khorshid and his staff at ABC Dental Care offers many years of experience and has a proven track record of successful cases. They take the time to answer any and all questions and take patient satisfaction very seriously. If you’ve been unhappy with the alignment of your teeth and have been considering braces, contact Dr. K today to schedule a consultation to determine if Invisalign is right for you.
